Merelewood Holiday Apartments are a mere 2 minute walk to the promenade which boasts facilities such as an indoor swimming baths, childrens play area, miniture railway, pitch and putt, alpine gardens, outdoor paddling pool, cinema and of course the 600ft St. Annes Pier.
Less than 1 minute away is the beautiful Ashton Gardens with it’s rose gardens and children’s play area, and the wonderful Ashton Gardens Pavilion Tea Room and Restaurant, which caters for your every need should you require hot and cold beverages and snacks, eating in or al fresco on the pavilion terrace.

Merlewood Holiday Apartments are conveniently situated in the heart of St Annes near the main shopping area in St Annes Square. The Square is home to a selection of well known stores in addition to a department store and independant retail outlets.

Entertainment, Variety & Shows
An array of world class entertainment in the form of plays, musicals, variety performances and concerts are performed throughout the year at several venues including the breathtaking The Grand Theatre, Blackpool Winter Gardens and North Pier Blackpool in Blackpool, and Lowther Pavilion Theatre in Lytham.
Lytham also hosts the incredible Lytham Proms Festival Weekend on 3rd and 4th August 2012. This popular and spectacular event will be headlined this year by superstar Opera singer, Alfie Boe.
Lytham & Fairhaven Attractions
Merelewood is located only 2 miles from neighbouring leafy Lytham with it’s quaint high street and independant shops. Take a little time out to relax on Lytham Green and admire Lytham Windmill, or take a tour around historic Lytham Hall 18th century manor house and its grounds.
Just over a mile away is Fairhaven Lake, a salt water lake. Visitors can enjoy boating activities from May to September, crown green and flat green bowling, tennis on 7 hard surface courts, basketball, putting and crazy golf and a newly opened skate park. There’s even an RSPB Discovery Centre for budding bird watchers, a children’s play area and a trim trail for both children and adults alike.
Fairhaven Lake is situated on the Ribble Estuary, an internationally important wildlife site, attracting more than 250,000 migratory wildfowl annually. The estuary is famous for attracting more species of wading birds than any other in the British Isles. The Salt Marsh provides a breeding site for Waders, Terns and Gulls, whilst the mud-flats are rich feeding grounds for Waders in winter on their long migration between the Artic and Africa.
Blackpool Attractions
If it’s thrills and adventure you’re looking for, then Blackpool is only 5 miles away. Home to many all weather attractions, most of which are open throughout the year. Attractions include Pleasure Beach Blackpool, Blackpool Tower and Circus, Sandcastle Waterpark (the UK’s largest indoor waterpark), Blackpool Zoo, and the Sea Life Centre.
If you fancy a leisurely pace, stroll along the beautifully landscaped promenade, through Stanley Park or along one of the 3 piers, breathing in all that wonderful, fresh seaside air.
Of course, no visit is complete without a walk through the world famous Blackpool Illuminations, on display from September to the start of November.

Situated here on the Fylde ‘Golf’ Coast is not one, but four renowned championship golf courses! The most famous course, Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club, will host the Open Golf Championship 2012. There’s also the St Annes Old Links Golf Club, where an openness to sea breezes guarantees you a traditional links game. Both courses are within half a mile of Merlewood Holiday Apartments.
